SWOT Analysis是一個非常簡單的分析優劣勢的方法。
SWOT由四個英文單字的開頭所組成。
優勢(Strengths)、劣勢(Weaknesses)、機會(Opportunities) 和 威脅(Threats)。


可由一個簡單的表格來表示:

	對達成目標有幫助的	對達成目標有害的
内部組織因素	Strengths (優勢)	Weaknesses (劣勢)

外部環境因素	Opportunities (機會)	Threats (威脅)
	O	T

Strengths (優勢) 與 Weaknesses (劣勢) 是由內部組織(ex: 個人、團隊、部門)所構成。
Opportunities (機會) 與 Threats (威脅) 是由外部環境(ex: 文化、立法、市場、科技改變)所形成。
